DME Management School in collaboration with the Placement cell organized a webinar on the topic ‘What is MBA and PGDM’ under Management Career Guidance Webinar series on 26th March 2021, through Zoom platform from 3:00 PM onwards.  The focus of the session was to apprise the management students about the difference between an MBA degree and PGDM along with tips and tricks to crack the various competitive entrance exams for MBA. The resource person for the webinar was Mr. Amit Poddar, Senior Regional Head, T.I.M.E. Mr. Poddar shared a very insightful presentation and briefed the students about career opportunities and job prospects after MBA.He emphasized upon the pertinence and relevance for post-graduation in management after BBA. He differentiated between PGP which is a post-graduation program and PGDM which is a postgraduate diploma in management. He told the students about some of the specialized programs like rural management, agri business, banking and insurance and their selection process and criteria. Then the students were given an idea of what strategy in exams means? Strategy isn’t what we should be doing; it is what we shouldn’t be doing. He discussed the patterns of various exams like CAT, XAT, SNAP, and NMAT and how to prepare for them. He said that the smart work is the key. The session was closed by a vote of thanks by Ms. Shanu Jain.

DME Management School, in collaboration with the Placement cell organised a webinar on the topic ‘Management Specialization and Career Prospects’ under the Management Career Guidance Webinar series on 25th March 2021 through Zoom platform at 3:00PM.  The resource persons for the session were, Mr. Prashant Khare (Founder and CEO, Careerthon and Corporate Advisor, DME and DTC), Ms Bharti Shokeen (Placement Head, DTC) and Dr. Sanober Khan (Head, School of Management, DTC). Dr Sanober Khan shared a very insightful presentation highlighting an array of opportunities and career growth after completing MBA. Ms Bharti Shokeen talked about the ground reality of placements, misconceptions around them and the placement procedure. She stressed upon the role of student led placement activities and campaigns. Mr. Prashant Khare talked about many other MBA specializations and encouraged the students to develop their skills in digital learning. He shared the expectations which corporates have from the management graduates and gave useful suggestions to bridge the gap between the expectations of the job seekers and providers.  The formal vote of thanks was extended by Prof. (Dr.) Poorva Ranjan, Head, DME Management School who also encouraged students to pursue MBA in their field of intesrest and not limit themselves by any stereotypes.

DME Management School in collaboration with the Placement cell organised a webinar on the topic ‘MBA at GSSIPU’ under Management Career Guidance Webinar series on 24th March 2021, through Zoom platform from 3:00 PM onwards.  The session aimed at apprising students about the prospects of pursuing MBA from GGSIP University. The resources persons for the webinar were, Dr.Sanober Khan, Associate Professor and Head, School of Management, Delhi Technical Campus and Prof. (Dr.) Ravi Kant Swami, Director, DME.  Prof. Swami guided students about the importance of right decision making at crucial crossroads of life. He briefed students about both the Eastern and Western school of thoughts, western school of thought which advocates picking up a job after graduation and being self-independent; earn and then go for further studies. Both have equally good prospects and one must choose wisely. If one goes by oriental approach, then pursuing MBA is a right choice. Then Dr. Khan shared her thoughts and experience to align the students’ minds. She shared a very insightful presentation highlighting the sectors absorbing the management professionals, pertinence of a PG degree accentuating the graduation degree and gave necessary orientation to the students. The students were given a complete idea as to what MBA at GGSIPU is, the process to get admission and why Delhi Technical Campus is a good choice when it comes to MBA. It was followed by a small talk by Ms. Kritika, alumnus of DTC who shared her experience at DTC and how MBA helped her in creating a niche for her in the corporate sector. Questions and queries raised by students were addressed by Dr. Sanober Khan. The session was closed by a vote of thanks by Ms. Shanu Jain.

On 13th March, 2021, 1pm DME Placement Cell in collaboration with DME Management School, organised a pre-placement talk for the company BoloIndya, for BBA, MBA, BBA LLB and MBA students through Zoom platform. The dignitaries present were the CEO and Founder of BoloIndya, along with Ms. Priyanka Rai, AVP Communications and Prof (Dr.) Poorva Ranjan, Head, Department of Management, DME.  BOLOINDYA  app is India’s fastest growing app for short video content in local languages. The programme was aimed at informing students about the 2-month long internship which will help interns understand social media landscape, digital marketing, sharpen their skills and provide guidance on how to work in the corporate environment. After 2 months of successful completion, students will be entitled with certification in the field of social media industry by Boloindya.

Management Career Guidance Webinar on Study Abroad Management Higher Education Programs: An Overview

The event is a part of the Management Career Guidance Webinar series aimed at providing exposure to the students about the various avenues available after graduating from college. The event’s Guest speaker was Mr. Amit Poddar, Senior Regional Head, T.I.M.E. He has a rich experience of around 16 years in guiding students on various career options. The speaker delved upon various courses which can be pursued in international universities. Details on required qualifications, important examination and work experience required were discussed.   Speaker threw light on required preparations of the qualifying tests including GRE and GMAT. The speaker ended the speech by providing an overview of how T.I.M. E. institute can help students in preparing for qualifying examinations through their preparation courses. The webinar ended with Mr. Poddar addressing queries from students, clarifying their doubts. The students from courses BBA (2nd year and 3rd Year), BBA LLB (Final Year) and BA LLB (Final Year)attended the webinar in large numbers.

Rubicon’s “Connect with Work” Training Program

In the month of February, the DME Management School Training and Placement Cell organized a 4 days (10th February-13th February 2020) Training Program in association with Rubicon Skill Development (CSR Initiative by Barclays) for the 3rd year students of the BBA. The workshop was conducted in the DME Seminar Hall.

The session began with a brief oration given by the Director and Head DME Management School, Dr. Ravikant Swami who motivated the students with his words of wisdom. Ms. Monika Kadam, Assistant Professor DME Management School convened the four days training program.

Our designated trainer Mr.Preetam Nayak, is a life skills coach and a motivational trainer who inspires the audience in a very distinctive way. He has close to 20 years of corporate experience and training skills ranging from soft skills enhancement, behavioral, managerial skills and many more.

On day one i.e. 10th February 2020, Mr. Nayak started off the workshop by briefly introducing himself and the initiative through a Power Point Presentation while explaining various aspects of corporates and their general organizational structure. He spoke about the mindset that often controls the human brains and how can we find the will and motivation to do a task or to achieve something with utmost focus and determination. The students were then asked about their dream jobs and their plan of action to approach the respectable companies. Keeping the dream job as basis of the workshop, Mr. Nayak asked each one of the student to introduce themselves while providing them with a valuable feedback. He explained the importance of vocabulary and communication skills in all corporates now days and on account of that he set up a fun vocabulary quiz. The students were then divided into 4-5 different groups and were given a Case Study which they had to present. With this activity, Mr. Nayak helped the students in improving their presentation skills that they lacked before the workshop. The workshop for the day ended with a SWOT Analysis activity in which the students were asked to do their own SWOT Analysis and present their best selves in front of the audience.

On day two i.e.11th February 2020, the workshop began with telephonic and email etiquette lessons with actual one to one demonstrations. The students were also taught the difference between positive and negative body postures which was very essential for the job aspirants and students in general. Mr.Nayak made the students familiar with numerous corporate jargons that would be very helpful in a corporate environment while also explaining the significance of personal grooming. He made everyone comfortable with each other and himself to initiate an activity called Extempore to enhance their Public Speaking skills. The session was extensively interactive as one student was called at a time and was asked to speak on a spontaneous topic. Their presentation would end with a feedback that was given by the audience and Mr.Nayak himself.

On day three i.e. 12th February 2020, Mr. Nayak continued the extempore activity with the students who didn’t get the chance to present the previous day. From there on, the students were briefed about Group Discussions were asked to initiate the discussions on a topic given by sir and their skills were judged on communication skills, fluency and logical reasoning. The whole activity turned out very informative and useful. There was Ice Breaking activity that was to make the trainer and students/audience comfortable with one another following which the students were introduced to a very fun spirited game which enhanced team leadership and coordination.

On day four i.e. 13th February 2020, Mock Personal Interview was scheduled by Mr. Nayak. He enlightened the students with intricate details and dos and don’ts about interviews that people are often ignorant about. He took scenario based interviews of students and got them ready for worst possible situations that might arise while appearing for an interview. He brushed up all the skills that he had imparted in the last 3 days and encouraged them to implement them in the near future.

We firmly believe in strong Industry Connect in terms of Guest Lectures, Industrial Visits, On the Job Trainings, Internships and final placements of our BBA Students. We impart effective personality development mentoring to the BBA students so that they are able to clear Interviews and GD Rounds. Our Training & Placement Cell works towards increasing the employability of the students and consequently providing them ideal platforms. We build

Placement Drive for Management Students

AuthBridge: Background Verification and Risk Mitigation service provider

A Campus Placement drive for students was organized by the Department of Management on 8th May 2018. AuthBridge, one of India’s Leading Background Verification and Risk Mitigation service provider, conducted the drive inviting applications for summer trainees in the operations department of the company. 38 students from sem 4 participated in the drive and 12 students were selected by the company for summer internships.

Mr Rachit Arora, Head, Workforce Management and Mr Dhruv Ghai, Senior Manager, Operations were welcomed by Director & HOD, Dr. Ravi Kant Swami and faculty members of the department.

The session started with a pre-placement talk by Mr.Ghai ,who gave an in-depth process knowledge of background verification and various sub-verticals. With more than 500 clients across a broad spectrum of industries such as BFSI IT/ITES, Telecom, Manufacturing, E-Commerce giants and Retail; AuthBridge has grown & emerged as a thought-leader, established industry standards and is recognized as the preferred choice for clients for background verification purposes across industries and levels. Empaneled with National Skill Registry, an initiative of NASSCOM, AuthBridge, is also one of the few within the industry to be certified for both ISO:9001 and ISO/IEC 27001:2008 since 2008. Continual improvement, stringent information security practices, robust processes for adhering to Data Privacy and various laws and regulations specific to geographies and industries are part of the organization’s DNA.

The pre-placement talk was followed by various queries by the inquisitive students. This was followed by an online test by the company. It was a 45 minute test of analytical and language skills of students.  It was an elimination round which selected 17 out of total 38 students who appeared for the test.In the second and final round, there were one-to-one interviews for the students selected in the first round and subsequently 12 out the 17 students made it for the final selection.

Post the campus drive, the company gave a positive feedback about the campus environment and appreciated the communication skills of students.

Amazon.com conducted Campus recruitment drive on 5th February 2020 at Delhi Metropolitan Education. The recruitment drive was coordinated by Ms. Pooja Tripathi, Ms. Monika Kadam and Ms. Laxmi (Training & Placement Committee, DME Management School). The programme commenced with a warm welcome of Amazon. Com recruiters. This was followed by a small presentation by Ms. Payal which gave detailed knowledge of the company and the job role. After that, the following rounds of interviews were conducted:

  1. Pre English Test (Online Assessment) – 15 Minutes
  2. Written, Cultural & Logical Online Assessment
  3. Voice Versant Test (Conducted Over a telephone)
  4. Operational Panelist Round

Around 81 BBA and BJMC final year candidates participated in the pre-placement talk out of which 71 students appeared for the screening process where every round was an elimination round. After the final round, following 15 students were shortlisted and selected by Amazon.com:
